BS : The Indian corrugation industry is a rapidly growing sector that plays a pivotal role in the country’s economy. Driven by factors such as increasing urbanization, rising disposable incomes, and a booming e-commerce industry, the demand for corrugated packaging solutions has witnessed significant growth in recent years.

I believe that the industry has immense potential for further development. Key areas where I see opportunities include:

  • Technological advancements: The adoption of advanced technologies such as automation, robotics, and digital printing can enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Sustainability: There is a growing emphasis on sustainable packaging solutions. Companies that can offer eco-friendly corrugated products, such as those made from recycled materials or using sustainable sourcing practices, will be well-positioned to capitalize on this trend.
  • Value-added services: The industry can differentiate itself by offering value-added services, such as customized packaging solutions, design assistance, and supply chain management.

Overall, the Indian corrugation industry is a dynamic and promising sector with ample opportunities for growth and innovation.

CM : Your idea on paper sustainability and its awareness & initiatives in India.

BS : A growing number of companies, consumers, and policymakers in India are becoming aware of paper sustainability. In spite of this, there is still a need for greater awareness of and implementation of sustainable initiatives. Some key ideas for promoting paper sustainability in India include:

  • Promoting recycling: kraft paper is fully recyclable and can be used as a sustainable alternative to plastic. Using government initiatives, educational campaigns, and recycling infrastructure can play an important role here.
  • Sustainable sourcing: Supporting sustainable forestry practices and ensuring that paper products are sourced from responsibly managed forests is another important aspect.
  • Innovation in packaging: Developing innovative packaging solutions that minimize paper usage or use recycled materials can help reduce the environmental impact of the industry.

Consumer education: Raising awareness among consumers about the importance of paper sustainability and encouraging them to make informed choices can drive demand for sustainable products.

By implementing these initiatives, the Indian corrugation industry can contribute to a more sustainable future while also remaining competitive and profitable.

CM : Thank you for your insights. As a final question, what sets BHS Corrugated apart from its competitors in the Indian market?
